The UK Size Guide
Typical UK size charts, EU and US conversions, and how to measure yourself properly — bookmark this before ordering from any edit.
The one rule above all charts: brands differ. These tables show typical UK averages, but the size chart on each Amazon listing always wins — check it, and check the recent reviews for “runs small / runs large” before ordering. Our review-reading guide shows exactly how.
How to measure yourself
Use a soft tape over underwear, not over clothes, and keep the tape level and snug — not tight. Bust/chest: around the fullest part. Waist: around the narrowest point, usually just above the belly button. Hips: around the widest part, feet together. Inside leg: from the top of the inner thigh straight down to the ankle bone. Write the numbers down once — they’ll size every order after this one.

Three sizing habits that end returns
One: trust centimetres over size labels — a “UK 12” varies between brands, 90cm does not. Two: when reviews chorus “size up” or “size down”, obey the chorus even if the chart disagrees. Three: if you sit between sizes, go up on outerwear and tailoring (room to layer), down on stretch fabrics (they give). Every fit note in our edits follows these three rules.
